Over 100 people contributed to this Stromness Museum project which resulted in an audio journey of Stromness, taking listeners along the length of the street and linking present day life and economic activity in the town with events in the past.
Rebecca was project coordinator, Mark one of the project team, interviewer and editor of the audio tour.
Both Rebecca and Mark ran workshops over the summer of 2011, exhibiting archive images and audio excerpts, gathering conservations about the heritage of Stromness, delivering training in audio interviewing, and recording new interviews. Mark edited an eight stop 65 minute audio journey weaving archive interviews with new interviews, soundscapes and music. They both produced an accompanying limited edition DVD with photographic images of the Stromness Museum collection by Rebecca.
The tour is free and available on MP3 players from Stromness Museum and downloadable here
